What to Look For
As a parent, you may intuitively sense that 'something just isn't right' and already know that your child needs help. If you observe any of the warning signs below or if your child's symptoms are severe, seek help immediately. Talk to your child's doctor, school counselor or mental health professional. Or call us and we'll put you in touch with someone who can help.
WARNING Signs:
- Withdraws from family, friends and activities
- Feelings of sadness or depression
- Poor concentration, unable to sit still or focus attention
- Unexplained anger, fear or anxiety
- Feeling overwhelmed or frustrated
- Struggles in school or experiences a sudden decline in grades
- Changes in sleeping or eating habits
- Hurts other people, destroys property or breaks the law
- Uses alcohol or illegal drugs
- Talks about suicide or does things that are life threatening
